Our last week! This  has been a very interesting class. Apparently some problems in recording our activities on the surveymonkey but that is not a problem. I have done the work in each class and learned a lot. Trying to use it consistently enough to remember all of  it will be a challenge. I am using the RSS feeds on MyYahoo and that is going well. I am not using the Social networks at all and probably won’t continue with the facebook and linkedin sites. Social bookmarking has been interesting and I will continue posting to my delicious.

Now for today’s lesson. I chose Weather Bonk-it is a mashup of live weather, forecasts, webcams googlemaps. I saved it in my weather bookmark.

I also looked at Flashearth-I have seen this before but didn’t  realize what it was. A  mashup of satellite and aerial views of earth from NASA, microsoft and others. Amazing. Can see anywhere on earth using the mousewheel and plus and minus plus other navigational tools on the screen.

This week was interesting. Both of these offer an easy way to enhance learning with audio or audio/visual topics. I am amazed at the variety of things offered especially on YouTube. I was not able to scroll up or down when using YouTube and that was a little frustrating.

We are operating with minimum staffing this week so I didn’t take the time to  post a video to my blog.

I will try to get to it next week if I have the time.

Learning about Flickr was interesting. Flickr makes it easy to manage photos and post them to blogs and social networks.

here is the link to my photostream on flikr

Using GoogleDocs is interesting. I have several questions about it though.

I am confused about when to choose googledocs and when to choose wikis.

I found it difficult to know who posted what in googledocs when I was in an actual document.

This week the Web 2.0 class is being introduced to another very interesting web tool called del.icio.us. It offers so much that at first sight it is overwhelming. I have signed up on the website and established my links on the bookmarks bar. Clicking around on delicious shows that it is a very popular site.

I can see how useful it can be for both work and home bookmarking. I especially like the fact that it is accessible from any computer.

This week I created a blog and learned about RSS. I added RSS feeds to my Yahoo. I was not able to find a table of contents that had an RSS icon. I will continue to look for one.

I spent the weekend in Breckenridge enjoying the mountain life style. Bicycling in Summit county is a great way to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The bike path from Breckenridge to Frisco is mostly downhill until it reaches Frisco where it has a few breathtaking hills. In Frisco, we stopped at the marina grill for lunch. We followed the bike path around Lake Dillon and stopped at the amphitheater and park then headed back around the lake. We stopped in Frisco to watch some kayakers play in the new kayak park on Ten Mile stream. Then we biked back to Breckenridge. We rode about 27 miles.

This is my second post. A test post
